The waist measurement is normally about 2-4 inches smaller than the chest, so a size 48 jacket would have about a 44-46 inch waist. Measure YOUR chest and waist at the largest parts while wearing your normal clothing. Take that measurement and add 3-4 inches and choose your size based on the largest measurement. If your chest measures 50 inches, then you would need to choose a size 54 UNLESS your waist is larger than your chest measurement. If your waist is larger than your chest, choose your size based on your waist measurement instead.
